Herāt is the third-largest city of Afghanistan, the birthplace of impACT. It has a population of about 436,300 and serves as the capital of Herat Province, situated in the fertile valley of the Hari River in the western part of the country.  The startup ecosystem is young and full of passionate citizens wanting to actively create a positive change for their country. There are only one business incubator and two co-working space operating in the city. Startup Grind organizes motivational events in the city and from time to time some of the universities organize entrepreneurial events but not regularly.
